MEASLES UPDATE: Health Department Urging High Risk Groups to Vaccinate Against Measles (May 13, 2008)
Tucson, Arizona – May 13, 2008 – The Pima County Health Department is again urging those who fall into the high risk categories to get immunized against measles. Those high risk groups include:

Measles1. Infants between 6 and 12 months of age
2. Children between the ages of 1 and 5 who have not had two doses of MMR vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart)
3. Those with a known exposure to a suspect case of measles
4. Healthcare workers, child care and school staff who don’t have proof of immunity, or a verifiable record of 2 MMR vaccines
5. Anyone having close contact with infants under 1 year, pregnant women, or someone who is immunocompromised
6. Others without known immunity.
