News Release: Measles Outbreak Ends
Measles Over
Tucson, Arizona – July 21, 2008 – The Pima County Health Department is advising areahospitals and medical providers that the required two incubation period from the last confirmed measles case has passed effectively ending the measles outbreak which began in mid-February. While the initial case count for Pima County was 22, upon retrospective analysis by the Centers for Disease Control, the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Health Department, the final case count was 13 laboratory confirmed and 4 probable measles cases. Tucson, Arizona – July 21, 2008 –Tucson, Arizona-Monday, July 21, 2008 – The Pima Animal Care Center, located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, will continue its adoption special through July 31, 2008. The cost to adopt is only $40.00 (plus the cost of the license for dogs over 3 months old).

72 Pets Find New Homes At Breakfast With The PACC But Shelter Remains Full

Tucson, Arizona – July 18, 2008 –Tucson, Arizona-Wednesday, July 16, 2008- The 2nd annual “Breakfast with the PACC” pet adoption event has been deemed a success. Pima Animal Care Center (PACC), located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, reports several hundred people enjoyed the free breakfast with 72 animals going to loving, new homes. Additionally, over $1,300 was raised for Sam’s Fund which helps pay for treatment of some of the sick and injured animals that come into the Center.
