Family Planning & Women's Health services focus on important health issues including reproductive health, breast and cervical cancer, and physical activity. Funding is received for services through the Arizona Family Planning Council, and Arizona Department of Health Services (via various federal grants). Services are offered through the Health Department's Neighborhood Offices:

Blue Button FAMILY PLANNING
Family Planning services assist women and men, including teenagers, in maintaining their reproductive health. Services are confidential and fees are based on family income and the number of individuals living in the household. No one is refused service because of an inability to pay. Family Planning provides:

The Colposcopy Clinic conducts diagnosis and treatment for abnormal pap smears.

The Folate Program provides multivitamins containing folic acid, a B-Vitamin, to low-income, childbearing women. Taking folate regularly can significantly reduce the incident of birth defects such as spina bifida.

Project CONTACT provides quality reproductive health care to eligible teenagers at little or no-cost. The program focuses on reaching youth who are homeless, at risk of being homeless, or are high-risk for pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. All services are confidential, do not require parent permission, and are provided on a walk-in basis. Appointments are not necessary. Services include:

Blue Button PHYSICAL ACTIVITY PROGRAM
The Physical Activity Program promotes active lifestyles in minority children 4th through 6th grades and their families as a means to decrease the onset of chronic diseases.

Teachers are trained on how to incorporate 15 to 30 minutes of exercise into a daily routine. Adults from selected neighborhoods receive assistance in improving their lives through physical activity.
 
Blue Button WELL WOMAN HEALTHCHECK
Well Woman HealthCheck (WWHC) offers breast and cervical cancer screening to under-insured or uninsured women, age 50 and older. Women with symptoms of these cancers, and women who have had a tubal ligation can receive services regardless of age. Services are provided through a network of local providers and Health Department clinicians.
