| Hazardous Materials Business Educational Seminar |
The Pima County Local Emergency Planning Committee invites Pima County business owners, operators, managers, compliance and safety officials to a seminar on various topics regarding hazardous materials and compliance requirements.
When: Tuesday, November 9, 2010 - from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Some of the Anticipated Presentations:
- U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (DOT) - information on the transportation of hazardous materials;
- U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – information on EPCRA, CERCLA and other environmental issues for businesses;
- U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of Infrastructure Protection – facility security inspections and terrorism security guidelines;
- U.S. Chemical Safety Board (CSB) – top causes of chemical releases with injuries and/or deaths;
- Arizona State Emergency Response Commission (AZSERC) – review of the electronic submission of Tier II Reports and Facility Response Plans;
- Arizona Industrial Commission of Arizona – OSHA regulations pertaining to hazardous materials;
- Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PCDEQ) – hazardous waste information and procedures in Pima County;
- A local Pima County business – explain how this business is working to incorporate many compliance requirements in to its operations.
This seminar’s purpose is to help the business owners, operators and/or managers in Pima County to understand hazardous materials compliance requirements and other important information to maintain a safe environment for workers and the communities where they are located.
