The Family Planning Program assists women, including teenagers, in maintaining their reproductive health. The Family Planning mission is "to provide individuals with the information and means to exercise personal choice in determining the number and spacing of their children, regardless of race, gender, class, sexual or affectional orientation, age or physical ability." This is accomplished by offering the following services through the Department's Neighborhood Offices:
Birth control
Pregnancy tests
Pelvic exams
Pap smear tests
Sexually Transmitted Disease tests & treatment
HIV (AIDS virus) counseling and testing
Patient education
Community education

 


The Pima County Health Department Family Planning Program is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through the Arizona Family Planning Council.
Services are confidential and a sliding fee scale is utilized. Fees are based on family income and number in household but,

NO ONE IS REFUSED SERVICE BECAUSE OF AN INABILITY TO PAY.

  Colposcopy Clinic
Family Planning's colposcopy clinic provides further diagnosis and treatment of abnormal pap smears.
Community Education
Community education provides free presentations, and services through birth control/STD/sexuality classes and literature, community board membership, health and career fairs, and other special events.   To request a presentation for any agency and age group, call (520) 887-0715.
