Citizen Corps Summit Pictures
In order to support the initiative to strengthen planning and citizen preparedness, a one day Summit for sixty five representatives of Pima County Citizen Corps Councils, partner programs and affiliates was held on February 7, 2009.
The Summit goal was development of greater community awareness of Citizen Corps and the institutionalization of Citizen Corps as a force for emergency and disaster response and recovery. A stronger Citizen Corps will be created as a result of a series of focused workgroups and round-table discussions. Each Citizen Corps partner program began to develop goals for training, exercising skills and team building. The Summit introduced Citizen Corps to Southern Arizona affiliates and motivated these affiliates and other key community members to join the movement to a stronger and more resilient Citizen Corps.
